You Can Purchase Google’s Daydream View VR Headset On November 10th For $79

Google has announced that their newly designed VR headsets called the Daydream View will be available for purchase starting this Wednesday, November 10th around the world. In the U.S. you’ll have the option of purchasing the headset for $79 at Best Buy or Verizon. In Great Britain you’ll be able to purchase the Google VR headsets for £69 at Carphone Warehouse or EE. In Canada, you’ll be able to purchase the product for $99 at Best Buy, Bell, Rogers or Telus. You can also purchase the wearable straight from the Google store.
Currently, the only phones compatible for the Daydream View headset is the Google Pixel and Pixel XL. But they plan to open up their technology for other phone manufacturers to be compatible for the Daydream View.
Google will be competing against Samsung in trying to become the dominant force in the mobile VR sector. And while Google is one of the biggest brands in the world, they’ll have to play catchup as Samsung has sold over a million Gear VR headsets worldwide.
Google will also be competing against Microsoft who’ve mentioned that their VR headsets will be coming to market Q1 of 2017 along with their partners. So it’ll be interesting to see how Google’s Daydream VR headsets do in the upcoming months.
