VRChat has announced that they’ve successfully closed a $10 million Series C investment round. The company has provided a platform for users to experience a fantasy virtual world in an immersive setting.
The Series C investment round includes new investor Makers Fund with existing partners HTC, Brightstone VC, and GFR Fund. “Our goal is to connect people and enable them to interact as if they were in the same room,” said VRChat CEO Graham Gaylor. “Any kind of social experience you could want should exist, and if it doesn’t, somebody should be able to create it. Makers Fund has deep experience with these types of platforms and will help VRChat move towards its goal.”
VRChat looks to use the Series C investment to grow the VRChat team and continue growing their platform and community. Graham, Jesse and Ron have a bold vision to enable and empower diverse communities through limitless virtual identities and experiences,” said Jay Chi, Founding Partner of Makers Fund. “We see great potential here and are very excited to partner with the VRChat team on this journey.”
VRChat has been a place of viral hits in recent time, which includes the birth of the meme Ugandan Knuckles.
The company also had stories which involved community members helping out a person who was having a real life seizure.
The unique aspect about VRChat has been with the utilization of their SDK. Creators can build avatars or worlds and upload them to share with others.

VRChat looks to revamp many aspects of their platform through the remaining calendar year of 2019.
