Virtual Desktop has been a great utility program for many VR users where they can access their PC in the virtual world. Now, it seems the popular application is coming to Oculus Go with a new mobile VR version.
In a surprising announcement, the developer talks about how the mobile VR version will operate and how users will be able to utilize the application.
You will be able to simply connect to your computer with your Oculus Go, Gear VR or Oculus Quest headset to watch movies, browse the web or play games on a giant virtual screen or in various theater environments. Virtual Desktop is a highly optimized, native application developed for low latency, high quality streaming.
• Connect up to 4 computers and switch between them in seconds
• Supports Bluetooth mice, keyboards and gamepads
• For best quality/latency, a wired computer with a 5 GHz Wi-Fi is recommended
• Also works over the Internet (enable UPnP on your router)
Today, Virtual Desktop is available on Steam for $7.49 for users using the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows VR HMD devices. If you are in to big screens, this is definitely a great option to check out. Virtual Desktop will be releasing on Oculus Go this Thursday.
