Snap Inc. has demonstrated their capabilities with AR technology with the introduction of world lenses late last year. This allows digital images to be overlayed in the real world, transforming the physical surrounding around you. Snap Inc. has been spending millions in improving this aspect of their technology. Facebook has even gone to lengths to mimic the popular Snapchat app on their social media platform and also on to Instagram.
Snap Inc. is on the verge of going public with their wildly popular app. They’ve even launched an OEM hardware called Spectacles which allow users to snap on the go through their smart sunglasses. With this type of movement, many companies and advertisers will be looking forward to working with Snap Inc. in turning the physical world into a virtual one through their AR technology. There hasn’t been word yet on the release of this new feature.
