The Shard, which is the highest building in the UK is now home to an exhilarating virtual reality experience. For a limited time, visitors at The Shard can try two thrill riding VR experiences on its open-air skydeck which is 800 ft above the city. ‘The Slide’ is an adrenaline-fuelled 360-degree virtual ride that swoops and slides through the London skyline, turning The Shard into a helter skelter.
Visitors can also test their nerve and balance on through a VR experience called ‘Vertigo.’ This virtual adventure will take you back in time to The Shard’s construction. You’ll be suspended in the air where you’ll have to walk across a steel beam while trying not to fall to the ground. This experience will surely be testing your fear of heights as your suspended 800 ft from the ground. Users will be following Romeo the fox while taking instructions from the construction foreman to continue building The Shard.
“As the tallest attraction in the UK, we are always looking for new ways to offer exciting and innovative experiences for our visitors,” said Patrick Allen, CEO of The View from The Shard. “The consumer technology space has been an area we’ve been keen to explore for a while and we are excited to be working with the design companies behind the VR, Happy Finish and INITION to introduce these two new adventures to the attraction’s visitors.”
The virtual reality experiences are free with attraction tickets until August 4th. Tickets are available to, or at the door for £30.95.
