The infamous Rock Band VR by Harmonix will finally be seeing daylight with the launch date set for March 23rd, 2017. The game will be exclusively available for the Oculus Rift. Pre-orders went on sale today at $70 where you’ll be receiving a VR copy of the game along with the Black Fender Stratocaster guitar controller which is essentially a push button guitar.

Rock Band VR was announced early last year where the Oculus team demoed footage and gameplay. The game was originally set to be released towards the end of 2016 but faced delays due to technical and hardware issues. The VR game looked quite intriguing as its meshed between virtual reality and music. You’ll be button smashing on a guitar in front of a large virtual audience, which is more exciting than it sounds.

The guitar for Rock band VR has to be strapped on to the Oculus Touch in order for it to function in the VR world. So if you don’t own the VR controllers, you must purchase it from the Oculus store. Another component to the Rift will be room-scale, something that Oculus doesn’t provide with the initial bundle. You must purchase two additional sensors in order to achieve room scale.

Harmonix released the minimum specs your computer requires in order for the game to work.

Required Controllers: Oculus Touch, Rock Band 4 Guitar Controller
Recommended Processor: Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
Recommended Graphics Card: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
Recommended Memory: 8 GB
Comfort: Comfortable
Compatible Guitar Controllers:
PlayStation®4 guitar controller: Bluetooth
Xbox One guitar controller: Windows 10, Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows

The game will be featuring 60 songs to follow along in virtual reality including “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith, “When You Were Young” by The Killers, and “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore. Harmonix also plans to release DLCs in the future which will include additional music. In RockBand VR you’ll have different modes to play in, such as classic mode where you rock out with Rock Band’s familiar “note highway.” The game will feature a global leaderboard as well where you can check to see who ranks up top.
