HTC Vive is currently investigating into reports about the foam on the back of the Deluxe Audio Strap deteriorating. YouTubers such as TribalInstincts show in their video the foam that rubs off from the strap after sweat hits the material. There are other mentions on Reddit of users seeing similar issues from their Deluxe Audio Straps.

The Deluxe Audio Strap is currently sold out on their website and on the Microsoft Store. The strap was built to provide comfort, stability, and sound for people using the Vive headset. At a price point of $100, people were expecting quality and are now finding similar results from various claims.

There hasn’t been any issued recalls as of yet. VR & FUN is awaiting confirmation on the next steps from the company. Below is a quick issued statement:
