Luna by Funomena has recently been released on both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The immersive games places you in a story where the bird is awoken by a mysterious owl to find that something terrible has happened with the moon.
You’ll be playing from a Gods eye view where you control the world and solve puzzles in stardust to grow magical gardens in musical terrariums. Youre mission is to re-awaken the shadowy forests and sparkling lakes, discover hidden creatures. You will have to reunite the fragmented Moon so Bird can find its way home
You can tell just be watching the trailer that the interactive VR game will feature some amazing songs and soundtrack to soothe the mind. Creatures that are featured in the game are designed in geometric shapes that give off an origami vibe.
Luna started off as a PC title in partnership with Intel -as an experimental approach to their RealSense Camera technology. As the project evolved, and hand-tracked VR controllers began to emerge, the team decided to partner with Oculus to bring the game to the Touch.
What the team found was that going into VR served to augment the tactile aspects of the experience -transforming it into something that felt like its own little world. For several folks on the team, this game will be their first major commercial game release, and the process of supporting a VR version of the game was a huge leap both financially and experience-wise.
Funomena’s team is made up of individuals who’ve created some successful games in the past such as The Sims 2. The game features the following:
– Solve celestial puzzles to unlock each level’s tree, plant and animal spirits.
– Place, customize and interact with them in miniature, musical terrariums.
– Bring each world to life, revealing Austin Wintory’s haunting, enchanting score.
You can download Luna today on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive for $14.99. If you are up for trying out a new VR game, we recommend you experience Luna in VR.
