That was quick.

Since our update yesterday about Pimax hitting over $2.7 million on Kickstarter, the company has been easily able to surpass that amount and reach over $3.1 million with days to spare. For those who pledged for the Pimax 8K headset will now be receiving a free eye-tracking module on the HMD.

pimax reaches 3 million on kickstarter

While we aren’t quite certain how they will implement the eye-tracking module, it is something that Pimax promises to deliver. For the people who have pledged for the Pimax 8K headset, you will be receiving the following stretch goal add-ons:

$500,000 unlocked: Extra face cushion

$1,000,000 unlocked: Standard headset upgrades to headstrap with earphones

$1,500,000 unlocked: Customized prescription VR frame + cooling fan

$2,000,000 unlocked: Wireless transmission $100 coupon

$2,500,000 unlocked: 3 choices of select content

$3,000,000 unlocked: Free eye-tracking module

We believe that this will be the last stretch goal that’ll be unlocked unless somehow they reach a $4 million mark which can be achieved at this rate. There seems to be a lot of people who have belief in the company and the 8K headset. The company states that this Kickstarter funding will merely cover costs to manufacture the HMDs and isn’t aiming for profit just yet.

There is a limited quantity on the 8K headsets and we aren’t quite sure how quickly it’ll run out. You can find the amount that was left yesterday on our last post. Also, check out how the Pimax 8K compares to the StarVR headset.
