YJM Games has announced that they’ll be releasing their newest VR title, Overturn on October 17th in VR. The game will be available on both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Overturn takes place after the downfall of Beholder Industry during its struggle to take over media and the internet. Realizing that it can’t simply control the open media spectrum to rule the world, they began experimenting in mind control technology.
Although they didn’t succeed with the development of the new technology, Beholder Industry somehow got its experimental subjects to develop various psychic powers ranging from conjuration to teleportation. For the failed subjects, Beholder Industry erased their memories and had the killed… besides one.
Your mission as a human prisoner and a test dummy for Beholder Industry is to try and escape from their prison with the help of the sole survivor who is known as the MAGI.
In the trailer, you can see that you’ll be equipped with beam rifles, energy swords, grenades, mechanical robots, and more. The game is locomotion based and you’ll be able to use your motion sensor controllers to battle your enemies.
Overturn combines immersive puzzle elements with immersive gameplay across multiple hours of in-game levels. Players will have to try and unearth the true narrative behind their capture. But as the game progresses, you will start developing doubt about MAGI’s intention and will have to make the decision to whether or not you can trust her.
The game will feature multiplayer functionality with a single player option. Players will be able to access built-in Twitch chat support as well as third-person camera systems that can be manipulated to provide an alternate perspective on the action.
Overturn will be available on Steam and the Oculus Store for $29.99 starting October 17th. Let us know your thoughts on the gameplay andd trailer.
