Oculus from Facebook has announced the release of their motion-tracked controllers called the Oculus Touch. As of today, it’s available for pre-order. These controllers are similar to how Vive uses its controllers to create a more immersive experience in virtual reality. Oculus looks to move away from their current controllers (Xbox One Controllers) and have their own branded ones.
Oculus has plans to create boundaries the way HTC Vive does and having these controllers to set the virtual boundaries are necessary. Oculus Touch will be shipping nationwide on December 6th starting at $199.
We speculate that Oculus will do a better job with distribution this time around versus the nightmare they caused the consumers with the back-ordered Oculus Rift headsets.
