During this year’s F8 2019 Developers Conference, Facebook has announced that the Oculus Quest and Rift S headsets will be releasing on May 21st. This is quite a big news as Oclus prepares to release 2 new VR HMDs.

The Oculus Quest as we know is the long awaited standalone VR headset that’ll provide an untethered VR experience without the use of a smartphone.

Oculus Quest Specs

The headset display will feature 1600 x 1440 per eye. The Quest headset will come in a 64 GB version which starts at $399 and the 128 GB version which starts at $499. It also incorporates a lens spacing adjustment to help maximize visual comfort. You will also find that the built-in audio is improved over the the Oculus Rift for higher sound quality.

Both the Rift S and Oculus Quest share the same Oculus Touch controllers and will both include Facebook’s Oculus Insight Tracking. These are built-in sensors that translate your movmeents into VR and provide room-scale tracking.

The bundle will include the Oculus Quest headset, 2 Touch controllers, 15W power adapter, AA batteries, and a frame friendly spacer.

You can pre-order the headsets today here and the official release date for both the Quest and Rift S is set for May 21st.
