Nintendo has always been re-imagining things in an unorthodox manner. We recently revealed how Nintendo isn’t looking into developing a VR headset or a 4K product but rather looking into different options to separate itself from its competitors. Now, Nintendo has revealed that idea with the Nintendo Labo.

The Nintendo Labo will allow users to create their own peripheral devices and add-ons for the Nintendo Switch using cardboard. Similar to Google’s tactics with the Google Cardboard, it will shell and house the Nintendo product and use the cardboard to its advantage.

A wooden cardboard is a cheap material that is abundant in supply. Users who purchase a Nintendo Labo set will receive a cardboard kit where you build out the peripheral with DIY instructions. Nintendo Labo will start off with two Toy-Con sets.

The Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01 set will include cardboard material to create 5 different Toy-Con projects. List of Toy-Con projects you can create:

  • 2 RC Cars
  • 1 Fishing Rod
  • 1 House
  • 1 Motorbike
  • 1 Piano

Materials inside Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01:
