Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) has partnered up with Bigscreen to bring the first two episodes of Stargate Origin to the VR theater as a part of a special social event. In advance of the upcoming finale, the two companies will be kicking off with a  limited immersive viewing experience.

Users in Bigscreen are able to use voice chat and unique avatars to hang out with fans from across the world. The virtual space allows the users to sit together as if they were in an actual movie theater watching a movie on the big screen.

Tied to the three-episode Stargate Origins finale event on March 8th, the first two episodes of the series along with
exciting bonus content will be available in 2D at select screening times via Bigscreen, offering fans an immersive, virtual movie theater-style viewing that encourages co-watching with fans across the globe from the comfort of their living spaces.

Beginning on March 8th, Bigscreen will offer designated screening times of these select episodes of Stargate Origins across and multiple-day period. Users will not be required to purchase any tickets.

Stargate Origins is an authentic return to the franchise that explores a brand-new chapter in Catherine Langford’s early history surrounding the extraordinary Stargate portal.


Thursday, March 8th at 3pm PT/6pm ET – Sunday, March 11th at 12am PT/ 2am ET

Episodes 1 and 2 of Stargate Origins available on Bigscreen every 30 minutes.

Thursday, March 8th at 4PM PT/7PM ET

Stargate Origins finale to air on Stargate Command All-Access


Screenings will be live every 30 minutes across four different theaters. Fans can “check in” to a theater at the designated start time to experience the screening alongside fans across the globe. These screenings will be available in the US, UK ,Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Germany.

You can currently access Bigscreen on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. You can also choose to use Bigscreen through the traditional Windows platform.
