Matterport has announced the release of their iOS and Android app for smartphones called CoreVR which allow users to explore homes and places around the world, remotely through virtual reality. The company has a gigantic library full of VR content (around 300,000 compiled VR spaces) but you’ll only be able to choose from 150 hand picked VR experiences.
Based out of Sunnyvale, California, Matterport was established with a vision to “create a complete virtual model of the world that changes the way individuals and industries interact with physical spaces.”
The apps are available on mobile headset devices such as Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard. For the iOS app to work you’ll require a iPhone 5 or newer. The iPhone must also be running iOS 9.1 or newer. Matterport also has ways of capturing your house and store in 360 with the use of their very expensive cameras. The company’s new apps are available for free today. If you’re a fan of exploring the world from your home, then this will surely be a good experience to check out. Also, if you’re a person who likes to take virtual tours of houses and office locations, it’ll truly be one of the best solutions out there.
