There’s been a lot of attempts by many companies at creating magical 360 video content in VR. But only a few have ever accomplished the task of creating something high quality and less dreadful. Spherica, a startup company based out of San Francisco looks to change all that. The creative studio looks to release the world’s first action series in 360 VR called Immserive Combat.
Spherica has teamed up with world class martial artists and athletes from different backgrounds to make this unique series. One of the martial artists that’ll be debuting in this 360 VR series is Myroslave Mala, a gold medalist in Traditional Nan Gun and Wushu. These martial artists look to display their art forms in 360 VR surrounded by beautiful landscapes and visuals. Spherica will also be throwing these martial artists into unique settings as vikings, pirates, crusaders, and even cyberpunks to fulfill a gap in greater storytelling.
Spherica has come up with their own proprietary method of filming in 360 with the use of similar hardware found in the newly released DJI Osmo. This new form of filming allows them to have greater stabilization and higher quality filming with clarity as they’re primarily using aerial drones. They believe this will create the non-nauseating feeling when watching 360 video content in VR.
We look forward to Spherica as they create a high quality immersive environment for viewers to see world class champions duel it out in 360 VR. Immersive Combat, the first ever action series, will be available on the Samsung Gear VR through the Oculus Store.
