HTC Vive has just announced the release of their virtual app store, Viveport, where you can find all VR content compatible with the Vive headsets. HTC Vive has created Viveport to encourage developers to create content not only based on gaming but to create art, education, and other types of industry focused content in virtual reality. This launch, in effect, will trigger a movement for current and future content creators to publish on one of the most versatile platforms. And to celebrate the launch of Viveport, the team over at HTC Vive has come up with a way to reward the community.

“In addition to debuting new Viveport Premieres, we are also rewarding our community with a special 48-hour launch celebration, where several marquee titles will be available for a special price of US $1.” – Rikard Steiber, President of Viveport.

Some of the featured content during the 48 hours will consist of Everest VR (with new updated content), Google Spotlight Stories’ Pearl, Lifeliqe, Stonehenge VR, The Music Room, an all-new edition of theBlu, and many more.

Rikard and the Viveport team heavily believe this to be the portal and gateway into proper VR. “We believe Viveport is the place where customers will start their journey into new virtual reality experiences,” said Rikard Steiber. “Now, fans in over 30 countries will join us on a fantastic voyage, as they get to experience amazing VR Apps published by the best content creators in the industry.”

Viveport officially launched on Sept. 30 12AM PST so go ahead and load up your Vive content from Viveport for $1. It’ll only last for 48 hours so don’t forget to download today!
