As VEC 2018 continues, we are going to see many updates come from the HTC team. Today, they’ve announced a couple break throughs for their Vive Focus users. In addition to taking phone calls and accessing the Steam library, Vive Focus users will be able to turn their current 3DOF controllers into behaving like 6DoF controllers.
HTC has developed a way where they wont need to add any additional hardware. Rather, they leverage the device’s existing front facing cameras and its proprietary AI computer vision technology to mimic the effects.
