Nvidia has finally revealed the pricing and release date for their new RTX 20 series which greatly enhances ray tracing.
The new series of cards start with the GeForce RTX 2070 and GeForce RTX 2080 with the GeForce RTX 2080Ti being top of the line. The GPU architecture is based around Turing rather than pascal as it was with the 10 series.
Release date and price
The new RTX cards are set to ship starting September 20th which is limited to 2 per person. The GeForce RTX 2070 will start at $599. The GeForce RTX 2080 will start at $799. The GeForce 2080 Ti will start at $1199. This is considerably more expensive than the 10 series which started at a lower price range when it first released.
In fact, the GTX 1080Ti was released at the price point of $699 when it first released. The GeForce GTX 1080 was priced at $499 when it first released. So the jump has almost been doubled in pricing from the previous versions.
