Fortnite is already setting some new records with its reach and audience. In the past 30 days, the game has been streamed around 460 years and 63 days time which overshadows the rest of the games on Twitch. Now, Epic Games has set their eyes on bringing Fortnite to the mobile platform.

The company has announced that they will be fully porting the game over to the iOS platform. This means that Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android. If that is to become the case, the audience base will only get bigger making the game probably one of the biggest of all time.

Last month, Fortnite has already recorded a staggering number of 3.4 million concurrent users playing the game. iOS being a popular platform with millions of users will only drive that number up.

“We believe this is the future of games,” said Epic Games. “The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.”

How to download Fortnite on iOS

Starting Monday, March 12th, Fortnite will be releasing a sign-up form on their website where you can be added to their invite list. The Email invites will soon rollout thereafter. When you do receive an Email from the Fortnite team, you will receive a download link for the game through the App Store.

Not everyone who signs-up will be receiving a download link right away. The company will be providing the link in segments to not overload their servers. They will be adding more players regularly in the coming months. Players who receive invites from Epic Games will also get friend invite codes to share with others.

To participate, you will need an internet connection and iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices as it requires the latest performance from Apple devices.

This is quite an unprecedented move by any game maker and will be ringing in a historic moment for the Epic team. They will be seeing users playing from all over the world through the new mobile platform access. And once the Android users are invited, everything will be sky-rocketing for the company.
