On May 1 – 2, Facebook will be making their biggest VR/AR announcement at the annual F8 conference according to their employees. In a twitter post by the VP of VR/AR at Facebook, Andrew Bosworth, he states that they’ll be sharing their “biggest AR/VR news to date.”

We’re not quite sure what Facebook has up their sleeve in regards to VR/AR but we like to believe that they’ll be making significant changes on the current Facebook platform to accommodate some new VR/AR features. We’re already starting to see active movement with Facebook Spaces and it might be some further integration with the app. But this is just a guess.
Hugo Barra also tweeted out that we should be paying attention to the news in regards to their announcement about VR/AR at the upcoming F8 conference. Barra stated, “We’ve been working on, especially AR/VR.”

Mark Zuckerberg’s plan has always been to seamlessly integrate the immersive technology into their platform. This is the reason why he acquired Oculus and will seek ways to get consumers on the virtual platform. There have also been rumors that some developers have been receiving the Oculus Santa Cruz to check out and experiment on recently. In May, they might be announcing something in regards to the new headset.
But we find that to be rather unlikely since F8 is more of a Facebook event rather than an Oculus focused event. But you never know with Mark Zuckerberg at the helm of Facebook. All we need to know is that Facebook will be announcing their biggest VR/AR news at the F8 conference in May.
