Bandai Namco is a famous game publisher known for creating classics such as Pac-Man and Dark Souls. Since their merger back in 2005, they’ve combined forces to make amazing content and storytelling. Every favorable year Bandai Namco puts together awesome events to showcase their upcoming games. And at this years Taipei Game Show, they gave an amazing demonstration of Ace Combat 7 on the PlayStation VR.
Ace Combat is a franchise that’s focused on air-to-air combat with modern fighter jets. You’ll be succumbed by dog fights in the air to claim rules over the sky. The graphics and visuals to the new game looks fantastic. And having an inclusion of an immersive experience through the PS VR makes it that much better. While the whole game won’t be playable on the VR headset, you’ll have access to new gameplay modes that allows you to access your fighter jet on the PS VR.
In the gameplay you can observe how the player turns his head to see his surroundings. With that ability it allows users to be more immersed in an experience compared to rotating his head through a controller. Ace Combat is also more of a realistic game compared to most out there. PS VR will allow you to feel like you’re in a “closer to reality” experience as you fight the enemies in the sky.
However, the PS VR headset isn’t as powerful as PC based headsets such as the Rift or Vive so we’ll see how it holds up for a graphics heavy game such as this. Bandai Namco has scheduled Ace Combat 7 to be released some time this year exclusively for the PS4. Look for more experiences similar to this being released by Bandai Namco in the future if it does well in the consumer market. With more than 3 million PS VR headsets sold, we believe that it’ll be a hit amongst the PS VR owners.
