Vertigo Games has announced at CES 2018 that their popular VR game Arizona Sunshine will be coming to Location Based VR (LBVR) with a spinoff version of the game in development for VR arcades. Arizona Sunshine has been one of the top selling games both on the PlayStation Store for PSVR and Steam marketplace for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
“Arizona Sunshine has consistently topped the list of most played games at VR arcades,” said Richard Stitselaar, Managing Director at Vertigo Games. “We strongly believe in Arizona Sunshine will again be a must-play in this new, exciting LBVR space. Who doesn’t want to brave the zombie apocalypes alongside their friends in an even more immersive experience than home VR offers?”
The new Arizona Sunshine LBVR experience will be able to bring up to 4 Vive users together in the same physical play space. This will be the first for Vertigo Games on the HTC Vive.
Key Features
- Real-life weapon handling: Using VR motion controllers, handle 25+ weapons with real-life movements. Anticipate attacks, manage ammo and aim down the sights to blast your enemies to undead pieces.
- Full-size campaign: Built in bite-sized VR chunks that together form a full narrative, the campaign allows you to jump in for a short session or stay for the complete ride.
- Free exploration: Move around without restraints to explore a series of huge southwestern American environments, including treacherous canyons and dark mines.
- Co-op multiplayer: Join forces in co-op campaign mode or multiplayer Horde mode for up to 4 players. But beware, more warm brains mean more hungry undead.
“Vertigo’s forward-looking approach to the arcade business and implementing technology such as the Vive Tracker have pushed the expectations for VR title forward,” said Daniel O’Brien, GM US, Vive. “We’re excited for this unveil to showcase all that’s possible on the Vive.”
