Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the most beloved games by Nintendo for the Switch console. The game delivered a fantastical world with their iconic characters to provide a deep storytelling experience. Now the fans want to turn it into a full playable game in VR.
The project itself will be called “Breath of the Wild VR” and is converted by developers who have ambitions of converting the whole world into a playable space in virtual reality. The way they hope to achieve this is by using Cemu emulator mod with 3D injectors. They will also send it over to user emulator once Breath of the Wild VR becomes more developed.
This whole project is possible thanks to some new mods on Cemu emulator that allows the bypass of reshade and doesn’t affect the quality. It also keeps high frame rate for a quality experience.
In the video above you can see the current gameplay and how high the quality of the mod is. It allows you to utilize all the magic spells and conditions that are familiar with the original game. You will also notice all the usual enemies and you will be able to pick up the loot left by them.
The sound effects are all there as well which is quite incredible. From the walking to the weapon sounds, everything sounds pretty authentic to the game.
As it is today, it is still a work in progress. This isn’t an official mod, but one that is created purely by fans and devs. To stay up to date, you can join their Discord channel. There isn’t a hard timeline to when the game will be available yet for the community. All we know is that it is in development and that there is some working gameplay.
But once it is complete it Breath of the Wild VR will be available on most VR devices including the Oculus Rift, Rift S, HTC Vive, Index, Windows MR, and even mobile VR HMDs. Are you excited to try out this full-fledged mod?
